Parents Course On Student Driving
Learn about the GDL (Graduated Driver License) Program for first-time drivers in the State of New Jersey. Do not rely on outside information - learn from the professionals.
This workshop has been created to educate parents of 15 year old students who are about to turn 16, and who will be given the privilege of driving in the State of New Jersey. This is a very important step in your child's life. All too often, parents are the last to know proper procedures in the licensing process for their children. The information being provided is often misinformation, and/or they hear too many rumors. This workshop has been put together and will be conducted by two of the premier driver training schools in the Southern Ocean County area. New Jersey has enacted new laws to provide for a multi-stage driver licensing system.
The new system introduces driving privileges gradually to first-time drivers, extends their practice driving time, and raises the unrestricted basic driver license age from 17 to 18. Depending on the age and preference of the new driver, there are three avenues to obtain a New Jersey Drivers License. During this seminar, a state-certified driving instructor will discuss the entire GDL process.
Among other things, you will learn about:
- The Special Learner's Permit
- Provisional License
- Basic 4-year driver license
- Identity Verification (6-point system)
- Written test standards
- Visual acuity test standards
- Questions to ask when looking for a driving school
Registration for this course is $5.00 through the night schools of Barnegat High School, Southern Regional High School and Pinelands Regional High School. The cost of $5.00 is to cover the night school administrative fee and there is no fee from "About to Drive Professional Driving School" or "Atlantic Driving School, LLC". Nothing is more important to teenagers than receiving their drivers’ license. Make sure you have all the correct facts to make this a safe and enjoyable experience. One seminar will cover all the necessary information. Seminars will be held each marking period: Sept. ( ), 2007; Dec. ( ), 2007; Feb. ( ), 2008; and April ( ), 2008.
Seminar registrants are under no obligation to take their 6 hours behind the wheel training with either About to Drive Professional Driver Training or Atlantic Driving School, LLC.
